Frequent Asked Questions

Why Choose Training in the Airplane?

We trained in the Cessna Ultra 560 and then had to stay an extra day to complete differences training for the Bravo. The avionics in the Ultra simulator were different from our airplane, so we wasted a lot of time figuring out how to set up each approach—sometimes doing five or six in an hour—none of which we’ll ever use again. By the end, I was proficient in the Ultra, but I fly a Bravo!

Isn't training in a simulator better?

Although simulators are excellent tools, very few of them have the same features as an actual airplane. We provide simulator training in addition to in-flight instruction.

What does your ground school cover?

I can personally attest to how tiresome and monotonous ground school can be. You may worry how much time and money you're spending due to the constant attention to system details and lengthy explanations of decades-old technology, such as how a starting generator from the 1950s operates. The worst part is that you frequently don't learn anything new. I thus use a new strategy. I highlight human causes and system failures by concentrating on recent, actual accidents, incidents, and data. This results in a customized curriculum that is intended to keep you interested, challenge your critical thinking, and assist you in assessing your methods and strategies.

Do you offer Citation type ratings?

Yes, we take care of all your training and assist you in locating a DPE to do your Type ride.

Do you offer Single Pilot Waivers for the CE-500 series?

Yes, Doug has his own waiver for the CE-500.
